The Green-breasted Mango male is distinguished by its orange to magenta tail and iridescent green belly. He has a dark blue stripe down the middle of his belly that can appear black when not fully lit. The female has a white belly with a dark blue to black stripe and a plaid tail. They can be found in the lowlands and mid elevations. Near Costa Rica’s Southern border with Panama, they are replaced by the very similar Veraguan Mango.

They are about 4 1/2 inches long and weigh 1/4 of an ounce.
